How we work
Process and detailed engineering are developed with fabrication, assembly and transport requirements in mind from the beginning.
Vessels, skids, piping, structures and access requirements are coordinated as one assembly rather than treated as separate activities.
Equipment is assembled and tested in the workshop wherever practical. This can identify issues before shipment and reduce site installation and commissioning effort.

Founded as Specialty Process Equipment Corporation.
SPEC was founded to design and supply specialty process equipment, treatment and conditioning equipment and dehydration units — the same families it supplies today.
From Engineering to In-House Fabrication.
SPEC expanded from an engineering business into manufacturing, establishing fabrication capabilities in Houston, Lahore and the UAE.
Larger Process Systems
SPEC expanded into gas-processing facilities and LPG recovery systems, supplying amine and glycol trains, LPG systems, hydrocyclone systems and flotation units for projects across multiple markets.
Manufacturing capability expands into China.
A fourth manufacturing base opened in China, extending SPEC’s production footprint beyond the United States, Pakistan and the UAE and adding capacity for engineered equipment and skid-mounted systems.
Jebel Ali expands large-module fabrication capacity
Three bays, 100 tonnes of overhead crane capacity, plate rolling and automatic welding in house. From here SPEC could assemble and test complete modules instead of shipping loose parts.
Large Modular Systems and Sour-Service Applications
SPEC supplied large modular process systems for oil treatment projects, and early production facilities for sour crude.
Expansion into Modular Refinery Systems
SPEC expanded into larger modular refinery applications, including gasoline production complexes and a Jet A-1 kerosene treating complex, while continuing to focus on engineered process equipment and skid-mounted systems.
Engineering and Fabrication Across an International Network
SPEC combines engineering and manufacturing in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and China, with offices in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. Jebel Ali is the principal works. The company is focused on engineered process equipment, skid-mounted systems and modular units supplied to operators and EPC contractors across multiple markets.

What does SPEC build?
Process equipment, engineered process systems, skid-mounted systems and modular facilities for oil and gas applications: gas sweetening and dehydration units, hydrocarbon recovery systems, separation equipment, oil processing and produced water treatment equipment, and the ancillary equipment that supports them.
Do you manufacture in-house or subcontract?
SPEC fabricates its equipment in its own facilities, which keeps welding, testing, inspection and schedule under SPEC's control rather than with third-party shops.
Which codes and standards do you work to?
Equipment is designed and built to ASME Section VIII and other international codes, with welding, inspection and testing controlled under SPEC's ISO 9001 quality management system. Current certification documents are provided on request.
Can SPEC deliver modular or skid-mounted systems?
Yes. Modular and skid-mounted systems are a core part of SPEC's work. They are assembled and tested in the workshop, which can reduce site installation and commissioning effort.
