Equipment
An IGF vessel fitted with coalescer packs and diverter plates that can enhance oil removal for suitable feed conditions.
Application
Where a standard IGF leaves finer oil droplets in the water, adding coalescer packs and diverter plates inside the vessel raises removal by giving those droplets more opportunity to merge into larger ones before they leave the cell.
System configuration
System configuration varies with process duty, operating conditions and project requirements.

Separate the compartments and route the water along a set path, increasing retention time and free-oil removal.
Static jet pumps, driven by water, that induce gas bubbles into the oily water; each compartment has a pair.
Plate-type pack that increases the contact surface so that more free oil droplets merge into larger ones.
Inclined plate that forces the oil film into the oil bucket as a thicker layer that can be skimmed.
Final equipment arrangement and delivery format depend on process duty, transport constraints and site requirements.
Specifications
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Typical outlet quality | As low as 10 ppm oil in water, depending on inlet conditions |
| Orientation | Vertical and horizontal options |
| Vessel code | ASME Section VIII |
| Supply | Configured around process requirements, operating conditions and project scope; skid-mounted |
| Coalescer pack type | Plate type |
| Options | Coagulant chemical injection; impeller or sparger design |
Compartment count, pack area and eductor selection are set by SPEC engineering against your inlet water quality and flow rate. Performance for a specific project is confirmed in SPEC’s proposal.
